GOOD LORDIE, MOMMA

All my life I’ve been saying
Religion wasn’t me
No God up in heaven
No reason to believe
Didn’t look for answers
I had all I needed
Good Lordie, momma

As I ‘m getting older
I find that I have changed
Feeling like a prison
And I wanna break these chains
Take away this blindness
Take away this pain
Good Lordie, momma

Walk with me, take me to the light
Fill me up, give me back my sight
Grant me a vision so that I can see
Good Lordie, momma

Gonna take some doing
Won’t happen overnight
Can’t pull down the fortress
Without some kind of might
I will go on trusting and
Stand in for the fight
Good Lordie, momma

Walk with me…
